Qualitative and quantitative research

The resources of the AXD Lab, founded by the Experience Design Academy in collaboration with the Departments of Management and Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, and with the Centre for Studies and Research in Communication Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, enable the implementation of structured research processes involving users at various levels and using different methods.

Future Thinking

Research and scenarios relating to user experiences of products, services and/or interactive environments. The topics are defined in consultation with partners and clients.

Market research and surveys

A well-established programme in terms of duration and methodology, designed to identify new project opportunities through concept generation activities. It can be delivered on an on-demand basis, with customised timing and outcomes, or as part of a structured programme within courses and master’s programmes.

User Research

From the preliminary phase of problem identification and problem framing through to the ongoing and ex-post analysis and evaluation phases, using specialised methods and technologies: field research, netnography, A/B testing, eye-tracking and VR.

Project-based learning

We support organisations in acquiring new skills to design meaningful experiences based on real-world scenarios. There are three hands-on learning options available.

Hackathon

On demand

A short-duration event aimed at producing semi-functional prototypes based on a brief and/or project scope defined in advance.
The package includes event preparation and the creation of relevant toolkits.

Workshop

On demand or within specializing masters and courses

A well-established programme in terms of duration and methodology, designed to identify new project opportunities through concept generation activities. Project Work

Within specializing masters and courses

The Project Work forms part of a training programme run by POLI.design. In consultation with the course management, the client defines the theme and, where applicable, selects a partner company, involving a specified number of employees or staff members supported by dedicated lecturers and tutors.
